First Essay in Japanese - with English Translation

しゅうまつはロンドンにいました.

私のむすめ、エリさんと私しゅうまつでロンドンに行ました。金曜日のごぜん六じ半にタクシーでカーライルえきに来ました、そしてロンドンのでんしゃに行ました。ごぜん十じ半に来ました。私たちのホテルはイユウストンえきのちかくにでした。あるいて行ました。いまは古でしたでもせいけつにいましたそして小いませんでした。中タウンにバスで行ました、そして日本のレストランでひるごはんを食べました。エリさんはうどんを食べました、そして私はみそしるとやさいてんぷらを食べました。あたたかいおさけを飲みました。 買い物をしました。エリさんの十九に たんようひから、私はエリさんにきものが買いました。あおいきもの買いました。高いませんでした。ホテルでばんごはんを食べました。土曜日シェパドスブシゥのアーケトにバスで行ました。たくさん人いました。アーケトのちかくに小きつさてんにひるごはんを食べました。たくさんうつくしいきしを買いました。ホテルでばんごはんピーザーを食べました、そしてテレビー見ました。日曜日ロンドンにあさごはんを食べました。イユウストンえき帰ました。カーライルのでんしゃに行ました。ごご四じごろカーライルえきに帰ましたそしてうちにタクシーで 帰ました。いいしゅうまつでした。

A Weekend In London

My daughter Eli and I went to London for the weekend. On Friday we arrived at Carlisle Station by taxi at 6.30 a.m. and took the train to London. We arrived at 10.30 a.m. Our hotel was near Euston station. We went there on foot. The rooms were old but clean and not too small. We went to "Chinatown" by bus and had lunch in a Japanese restaurant. Eli had udon noodle and I had miso soup and vegetable tempura. We drank warm sake. We went shopping. It was Eli's nineteenth birthday, so I wanted to buy her a kimono. I bought a blue one. It was not expensive. We had dinner at the hotel. On Saturday we went to Shepherds Bush Market. There were a lot of people. We had lunch in a small coffee shop near the market. I bought a lot of beautiful fabrics. We ate pizza for dinner, and watched television. On Sunday we had breakfast in London then returned to Euston Station to get the train to Carlisle. We arrived in Carlisle at about four in the afternoon and took a taxi home. It was a good weekend.

エリさんと私はごご八じ半ボザゴトにいけました。ばんごはんをたべました。

きょういいてんきです。エリさんと私はぎんかのデパートにいけません。

あとで私のまごはここにきます。あしたうちにかえります。

きょわたしはかいものがしました。くつはかいました、でもうあとぐわたしのうちで、がぴったりしまらない。わたしのはははとわたしはにわていえんでひるごはんがたべました。あとでわたしのむすめはとわたしはまちでいきましたそしてみせでくつはかえした。こんばん、さっさてんでわたしたちはばんごはんふぃっしゅあんどちぷすたべました。うちのりょこうでわたしのちょうじょたずねる。わたしのまごむすこはうちでといっしょいきました、そしてこんばんここでねむる。いまわたしたちはえいが [The Fifth Element] みます。

Today I went shopping. I bought some shoes, but when I got them home to try them on they did not fit well. I visited my mother and we had lunch in the garden. In the afternoon my daughter and I went into town and took the shoes back to the shop. We had tea in a cafe - fish and chips! On the way home we visited my other (older) daughter. We brought my grandson home with us and he will stay the night. We are all going to watch a movie together now - "The Fifth Element".
